Mr. Jennings,

So much has changed since I emailed you so many months ago. While the industry, economy and nation are facing tough times and hard decisions, our business has picked up substantially requiring a large amount of my focus and time to be dedicated towards the business. Since my last email, my managerial responsibilities have increased dramatically due to a directive from my director to manage sales for our entire division. Using lessons learned from Reading your books and others, as well as my minor in Engineering Leadership Development from Penn State University, I have been able to "Hit the ground running" with my new responsibilities and impress my boss and bosses beyond my boss. It has been an exciting ride these past 6 months and I am embracing the opportunities presented to me with open arms.

I am currently preparing a technical presentation for an upcoming conference in two weeks. I also championed the Drinking Water section for the recently released 2010 Pennsylvania Infrastructure Report card. Between my work responsibilities and my duties for the American Society of Civil Engineers, I have regrettably limited my reading time. I am hoping for a long trip in the near future where I can get some reading done and finish your series of books.

Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to reply to me and you have already assisted me in my professional development… Thank you for your time and I hope to be able to attend a speech of yours in the near future.

Sincerely,
-Ryan Mastowski
